Comfort:
Humans have a need to stay warm, we have a very small comfort zone, outside of which we feel either hot or cold. Our homes protect us from the extremes, but when the going gets tough they need a little help. All homes lose heat, when the outside temperature is lower than the inside temperature heat starts to ooze out of our living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. The rate at which this heat is lost is dependent on several factors:
-
The properties structure -
The properties insulation properties -
Our lifestyle, do we like to have windows open etc
The good news is that this heat loss can be calculated to ensure that there is adequate heat produced to replace what is lost, keeping us warm and comfortable.
There are many ways to replace this lost heat. Here at SA Heating Solutions we primarily deal with Hydronic Heating. As the monkeys in the picture above found out, hot water is comfortable, it is also easily transferred through pipe work and excellent at transferring heat. This makes Hydronic systems both flexible and efficient.
On the next two pages the two main types of domestic heating systems are explained in a little more detail. Both of these use the movement of hot water from a heat source, combustion stove, gas boiler, heat pump, etc. and transfer it to heat emitters, radiators, towel rails, underfloor tubing.
Via the heat emitters, this heated water replaces the heat that is lost on those cold winter days, keeping your home in the comfort zone. The beauty of these two systems is that they can be used as a single system, or if required coupled together to form a complete package to suit any customer requirements.
